Example 'LDO' Concept and Overall Mission for the Day:

Your team has been removed from the workplace to enjoy a fun filled day of activities and an opportunity to discuss and war game current and future needs of the organisation. The key outcomes of the LDO can be attributed to removing job related stressors, bringing the team together and providing a day of fun and enjoyment.

Select your 4 'LDO' activities to suit your teams needs.  An example of the activities are:

Orientation-Rogain Phase (Happy Wanderer): Your team must successfully navigate to six allocated checkpoints and resolve workplace issues that have been pre-identified.  Once they have an agreed outcome, advancement is approved to the next checkpoint.  The learning outcomes are associated with time management, communication, map reading and compass skills.  Time management is the key to achieving outcomes.

Balls in the Bucket: This activity is a simple and very effective teambuilding task. An activity that if overcomplicated becomes mission impossible.  To successfully complete the objective team members must guide a blindfolded thrower to score direct hits into the bucket.  This task strengthens skills of positive motivation and communication.

Defuse the Bomb: 25 minutes is all your team has to remove a ticking pressure bomb from the hot zone! Using allocated resources and moving within a confined area the team must extract the device without setting off the countdown fuse!  This task fosters effective listening, participative engagement and objective thinking under pressure to make decisions.

Headache (Tanagramania): Tangrams are literally "seven boards of skill" consisting of seven flat shapes, called tans, which, when put together form shapes. The objective is for each team to produce four tanagrams within an allocated timeframe. This is a mentally challenging activity that will frustrate many but will foster problem solving skills in a group dynamic. Patience is a virtue and a good sense of humour a must.
